I have some Extreme AP8232 802.11c wave 1 access points at home. This of course applies to any area of network operations! I particularly like the method by which access points discover their controller, which just seems less cumbersome than Cisco the controller gives you a lot of control over the process. If you're a wireless engineer with some expertise, there are many, many ways you can manage your network with Extreme, but you do need to know what you're doing. It's also easy to set up a very usable and easily customisable guest network without any extra equipment. The GUI (in our case) could do with some improvement, firstly because it requires Flash (I'm told that's changing and indeed may already have changed in the latest versions) and can be a bit slow, but again, it contains a lot of information mostly well presented.

The channel and transmit power algorithms seem to be effective. quite different from the rather dire Cisco Aironet command line), the operation of the network is quite transparent and a lot of information is available to help with operations and troubleshooting.
